Art as Meditation & Paint Night
Artists from around the world have come to the mountains to sit among the trees and create. The joy of reconnecting to the natural world is to sit and admire its colors, shapes, textures and beauty. This process is available to everyone and it manifests the ability to become more mindful and to slow down the pace of our thinking mind. The exercises on retreat are designed for all levels and an evening to play with color can assist with a calming and relaxed disposition. The perfect state to carry with you back into your daily routine.
Nature Walks on the Bow
On retreat we have 2 nature walks that give guests the opportunity to take in the stunning vistas and experience a mindful practice of silence.
Abegweit on the Bow is across the street from low bank Bow River frontage. Beavers can often be seen on the river at dusk, deer and elk will stroll onto the property or along the riverbank. The beauty of Banff National Park surrounds you here. With Cascade Mountain to the North, iconic Mount Rundle to the South East, Borgeau Range West and the Bow Valley in the middle – you are in paradise. Canoe rentals are just down the street where you can paddle along the Bow and into the Vermillion Lakes. Watch Bald Eagles soar from their nest, if you’re lucky – watch a moose eat the tender water plants along the fenlands. If you have never been to Banff – then you must! A short 45 minute drive and you are at world famous Lake Louise where you can stroll along the water’s edge taking in the spectacular view.
Banff is a most walkable town and bike rentals are close by to take you further along the accessible river path.Roam Public Transit can take you up to the lakes, the gondola and upper hot springs or just about anywhere in Banff you'd like to see.
