What to Expect

There are many different types of yoga out there today. You may have heard of vinyasa flow, power yoga, or yin yoga. Trauma informed yoga is a way of practicing yoga that helps you connect with your body in a safe and friendly way. The environment is safe, supportive and non-judgmental. You will be cultivating strength and flexibility, and also encouraged to take care of yourself and not force anything through pain. This emphasize is on choice, self-awareness and
mindfulness.

  • The classes are designed around a ‘flow style of yoga’ so you will be moving at your own
    individual pace

  • You will be encouraged to explore breath and your own body through movement.

  • The class will be progressive, i.e. it will start off slowly and build over the eight weeks, again at
    your own pace.

  • There will be no hands on physical assists for these classes.

  • Your feedback and input is always welcomed so that you may have the experience you are hoping for.

Confidentialty
  • Any information shared during the course of the program will be kept confidential, and will
continue to be treated as such once the program has finished.

  • Information would only be disclosed to others with documented informed consent from you.

  • There are some limits to confidentiality. Disclosure would be necessary in a case where the
information shared suggests that there is a substantial risk of inflicting imminent serious harm
on yourself or others, and the disclosure would be necessary for protection.

Payment Options / Sliding Scale

Sponsored by BANFF COMMUNITY HELPERS a sliding scale is in place with a goal of making the program available to everyone. This offers a path to all who may benefit from the practice without the undue burden of finances. This system is based on honesty. • For those whose economic circumstances would prevent them from being a part of the program, and represents their financial reality - $ 0 - $ 50 for the program

  • An option in the mid-range of finances - $ 65 - $80 for the program

  • For those who have access to financial security - $ 120 - $145 for the program
