Rocky Mountain Yoga is pleased to announce its first 200hr YOGA ALLIANCE certified BIJA YOGA teachers training program! ERIN EVANS has designed a course rooted in Ashtanga and the creative freedom of Vinyasa Flow. Bija Yoga is created for those who love to move and breathe. Whether you are interested in becoming a yoga teacher OR want to develop your regular practice, this program will support your highest good. Get ready to work hard, look inward and be steady!

  • Fridays:     1pm to 8pm ( 1hr. dinner break )
  • Saturdays: 7:00am to 4:30pm ( 30 minute break mid morning & 1 hour lunch )
  • Sundays:   7:00am to 4:30pm ( 30 minute break mid morning & 1 hour lunch )

  • A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at time of registration
  • Remainder is due 1 month prior to start date

Saturday: Every Pose Is An Offering
Introduction to Dharma Yoga In this workshop we will explore the many variations that make
Dharma Yoga a dynamic and devotional practice. This session will give students new to Dharma
Yoga a solid foundation. We will explore deeper variations and new tricks for seasoned practitioners
to access advanced poses. Suitable for all levels of experience. The course will also include
spiritual discourse, pranayama, concentration, and relaxation techniques

Sunday: Maha Sadhana
The great practice of a true living master Dharma Mittra the creator of “Dharma Yoga” and founder of the Dharma Yoga Center in NYC. Creator of over 300 popular Yoga postures, Sri Dharma is known as the “Teacher’s Teacher” and “The Rock of Yoga.” He is the author of Asanas: 608 Yoga Poses, the famous Master Yoga Chart of 908 Postures.
This session begins with chanting, and pranayama, then continues with a spiritual discourse on traditional yoga philosophy. Yoga Asana practice will follow with variations for all levels, including some partner variations. Session will also include Yoga Nidra and an Asana Jam session offering (which is one of the best ways to learn new variations).

Ayurveda is the oldest holistic healing modality known to man. Practiced for over 5,000 years, this science of life includes effective diet and lifestyle guides, individualized meditation, breathing and yoga techniques, Marma Chikitsa, mantra healing, herbology, gem therapy, aromatherapy, colour therapy and massage.

Ayurveda promotes healthy living and a sattvic lifestyle, one of balance and harmony. It strives to to maintain the perfect balance of a healthy person through prevention and cures the disease process in an unhealthy person through proper diet, lifestyle, panchakarma, rasayana, herbs and therapies.

Main concepts covered:

Sankhya Philosophy (little)
The 5 Elements: the TRIDOSHA (Vata, Pitta, Kapha)
Gunas and qualities: Sattva, Tamas, Rajas
Seasons and qualities: how do they influence the tridosha? How does this affect the individual?
How to keep balanced through the changes of the seasons in Alberta’s climate
Ayurvedic light on the Spring Cleanse: how to for V/P/K
CCFT and Agni Tea recipes

Saturday August 16th ~ PM Session 1:30pm -5:30pm

In this dynamic workshop we will learn how to achieve the immense benefits of customizing our asana and pranayama practice to accommodate our personal constitution and needs. As we delve into the basic principles of Ayurveda, one will learn how to leverage the qualities of the three governing energies of the universe (Vata, Pitta, Kapha). We will explore the different postures, pranayama and sequences used for energetically aligning each dosha.

This workshop will provide the yogi with a more expansive understanding of how integrating Ayurveda into their yoga practice can benefit one’s health. Learn how to apply this practical knowledge to your personal yoga practice and confidently use this wisdom for self healing and relief of common afflictions such as anxiety, insomnia, anger, fatigue, etc.

*Introduction to Ayurveda is highly recommended as a prerequisite.

Sunday, August 17th ~ PM Session 12pm -5pm * location TBA

Please join me for this long awaited class that will help you understand the importance of the “Shad Rasa” or the six taste science of Ayurveda. We will study the basic principles behind the Ayurvedic diet and food choices while we learn how to use herbs and spices to create a few delicious, well combined meals for healthy living. Prepare simple, balancing recipes to use for you and your family, while understanding the deeper digestive principles of Ayurveda. Invest in your health and enjoy the benefits of thinking differently about food preparation and nutrition. Recipes made in class, as well as a few extras, will be given to take home.
